What Is CBD Vape Oil Made Of?

Over the years, there has been a surge in the interest in CBD which is a result of its unique qualities. CBD is one of the several cannabidiols found naturally in the Cannabis plant, and unlike its cousin THC, CBD does not produce the ‘high’ feeling that is usually associated with cannabis use. Thanks to these qualities of CBD, and the intuitiveness of CBD manufacturers, you can now enjoy CBD in a variety of forms. One of which is via inhalation otherwise called CBD vaping.

The term CBD vape oil tends to be thrown around loosely and as a result, has generated uncertainties especially among newbies. CBD vape oil is worlds apart from CBD oil itself. For starters, any CBD that is mixed with a carrier oil, whether MCT oil or olive oil, is not meant to be vaped. They are designed to be taken orally by placing a few drops under your tongue. Vaping this type of CBD product can pose potential health risks. In fact, when it comes to vaping, there are only two ways CBD liquids can be vaped and we would talk about them here.

CBD Vape Juice

CBD Vape Juice commonly referred to as CBD vape oil or CBD vape is a combination of ingredients that make it suitable for inhalation. When choosing a CBD vape juice, always read the label and make sure that it does not contain nicotine. Here are the ingredients you would find in 99% of the CBD vape juices in the market:

  • PG (propylene glycol) is a colorless, odorless liquid with a faintly sweet taste that is commonly used as a food additive. PG is responsible for the overall feel of the vape juice. It’s what gives it the smooth throat hit that’s comparable to a real cigarette.
  • VG (vegetable glycerin) – Another common food additive, VG is slightly thicker than PG and has a sweeter flavor. VG can make CBD vape juice thick when it is used in high quantities and this isn’t ideal for vaporizers with cotton wicks. It does, however, produce thick clouds of vapor and adds sweetness to the overall flavor.
  • CBD (cannabidiol) extract: This is the most significant component in the vape juice mix.
  • Flavorings – The flavorings used in e-liquids have all been approved by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and are commonly used in a variety of other products. These are added to give you a more pleasurable experience while you vape.

In terms of the CBD content, manufacturers choose between full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and CBD isolate as they differ in terms of potency and their overall effect. You can find CBD vape juices in a variety of flavor options and a variety of strengths ranging from 250mg for beginners, 500mg for experienced vapers, and 1500mg for seasoned veterans.

CBD Distillate

CBD distillate is commonly used in cartridges. Raw CBD distillate is utilized in this scenario, with additional terpenes as a result of the extraction process and filtration processes. CBD distillate includes the complete plat extract including an array of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, which most times includes THC. The CBD distillate is prefilled into cartridges and sold. The cartridges work in tandem with a CBD pen or 510 thread battery that is designed to be compatible with standard 510 cartridges.

These are mostly sold in 250mg and 500mg strengths. When buying this, you also want to check the label or lab results for the THC content.

By now you already know that CBD oil is not the same thing as what you call CBD vape oil or CBD vape juice, and even though they tend to look alike, they are made of completely different ingredients. Learning to differentiate them is important especially when you are just starting out. On the plus side, you now have a clue on how to choose your next CBD vape oil, whether it would be a CBD vape juice or CBD distillate.
